Board of Directors

What is your current role and responsibilities with the Assisted Goals Foundation?

As a member of the board of directors one of the major aspects that I run is the technology side of Assisted Goals Foundation. I am integrated heavily into operations which oversees donations, the scholarship application and process.

Why did get involved with the Assisted Goals Foundation?

Hockey has always been a favorite sport of mine, growing up playing on the ice and street hockey. I have 3 children, 2 of which are currently playing hockey. Hockey as a sport has so many aspects that kids can learn about life, some include discipline, structure, and being a team player. I greatly see the benefits of why introducing hockey at a young age can help develop and push kids to reach their goals. Being involved in Pittsburgh, its really easy to see how there can be a level for any age and any skill level, which includes keeping kids involved and loving the game from an Elite level to a beginner level. Hockey can become a financial burden very quickly and can often seem like help is way out of reach, but as parents we do not want that to stop our children from reaching their goals or succeeding, and that is why I wanted to be a part of Assisted Goals Foundation.

What is your professional background and how does it translate to the Assisted Goals Foundation?

Since I have been young I have been interested in technology and how it helps us become more effective and efficient in our day to day lives. I am a Technology Teacher at John Marshall High School, in Glen Dale, WV. ASG gives me the opportunity to mix two passions of mine, Hockey and Teaching / Technology, and just like students in school when kids are on the ice they are students of the game of hockey. Players at the NHL level all the way down to Learn to Play learn something new and are always working to reach a goal or score a goal.

Tells us something about you?

I live in Wheeling, WV and currently drive to Pittsburgh several times a week to provide the best opportunity for my children to play hockey and have the best instruction they can get. I have played baseball, golf, hockey, soccer, and basketball, while being a part of a State High School Champion golf team.
